Abstract

India was synonymous with rich ancient culture, spicy food, vibrant colors and also Ayurveda. When Ayurveda is mentioned, another word, allopathy, is bought for comparison. Ayurveda has its roots in ancient texts, the Vedas, and allopathy is a term that is mostly associated with modern medicine. One has its origin in the deep East and the other is influenced by the West. Long before modern medicine found its way to distant India, Ayurveda was the main healing system. Instead of doctors, there were vaidyas and rishis who used Vedic knowledge to treat not only minor but also serious ailments. Then, in the 19th century, Allopathy appeared and paved the way to the current structure of medicine.This research aimed to study & counsel the local patient with psoriasis disease. The treatment taken by the patient regarding the disease of using ayurvedic & allopathic medicines, we have visited the patient to counsel, retailer pharmacist & skin specialist physician. The comparison between ayurvedic & allopathic medicine with their benefits, effects, side effects & patient preference is studied.
